AbstractThis paper is aimed to investigate whether the regional flow of the elements of R&D can promote China's economic growth through spatial knowledge spillovers. On the basis of theoretical analysis, it takes 30 provincial administrative regions of China as the research objects, using a variety of spatial econometric analysis techniques to carry out empirical examination. It is found that there are significant spatial spillover effects from the regional flow of R&D factors, which can contribute positive effects to the economic growth of China. After considering different measurement indexes of the R&D factors flow and the endogeneity may occur in spatial econometric models, the result is still robust. The conclusion of this paper provides policy implications for facilitating the rational flow of R&D factors, integrating the innovation development of various regions, and therefore, promoting the sustainable development of China.
