AbstractUsing the social network analysis tool and the generalized gravity equation, this study investigates the effects of dyadic level differences in resource endowments and structural factors on the trade of agri-food products in China through Poisson family of ML estimation under the H-O framework, with the 2007-2011 SITC-4 digit trade data of agri-food products from UN-Comtrade and CEPII database. We find that the effects of differences in resource endowments and structural factors on the trade of agri-food products in China are significant. From structural equivalence factor, there is a significant “substitution effect” on the differences in resource endowments that the existence of structural equivalence lessens the dependence on differences in resource endowments. From role equivalence factor, there is a significant “stratification effect” of world-system status on resource endowments, the effects of resource endowments on agri-food product trade show a significant differences between core and noncore countries.
