Abstract | How of technological ingredient in China’s export competitiveness? Whether, or to what extent of the evolution of China export competitiveness is based on the ground of exporter’s productivity? The answers to these questions concern the persistence of China’s export and growth. This paper introduces the concept of technological contents into traditional heterogeneous firm trade model and builds an dual-heterogeneity model to figure out the relationship between firm productivity, product sophistication and export performance theoretically. Then the export competitiveness is connected to micro feather of China’s exporting firms on the basis of industrial firms’ data and high disintegrated trade data, to explain the evolution of China’s export competitiveness. The conclusions displays that firm productivity promote the shift of export sophistication of china, which reveals the importance of firms as the role of final exporter. Otherwise, the technological competitiveness is also influenced by other feathers of firms and the importing countries’ specialty. |
