• Compare for the Real and Nominal Income Disparity among Different Regions in China |
Abstrat:There are two factors affecting the real income disparity among regions: the nominal income and the price level among regions. It is only after the nominal income being adjusted with price level that we can get the real income disparity. We adjusted the per capita annual disposable income of 36 cities with the price level and found that the real living level disparity is smaller than the nominal income disparity measured by the money income. |

• The Disparity of Income,TFP and the Convergence Hypothesis in Chinese Provinces |
Abstrat:We study the convergence of total factor productivityTFPin Chinese provinces during 1982—2002 and compare it with the mode of incomeGDP per laborconvergence. On the accounting basis our analysis shows that the differences in TFP can explain the bulk of income disparity. OLS, Panel Data fixed-effect and Dynamic Panel Data first-differenced GMM estimated methods support both conditional convergence of TFP and income while the speed of TFP is much faster than that of income. Only the east region has club-convergence. Further more, the Chinese provincial convergence modes of TFP and income are very similar to those of cross-country. |

• Financial Development and the Income Growth of Farmer in China |
Abstrat:Based on a macro-model in terms of Chinas financial development, rural financial development and farmer income growth, this paper aims to identify the real relationships between the financial development and farmer income growth in China over the period 1952—2003. Using annual national time-series data, Co-integration Tests, Granger Causality Tests and VAR analysis indicate that China financial development has definitely negative effects on the farmer income growth. The results show that, if we directly substitute the positive relationship between financial development and economic growth to the relationship between financial development and farmer income growth, and assume the financial development as the prerequisite of the farmer income growth, it will not be proper with the reality of China economy. Moreover, the paper verifies the proposition that “to prevent the structure and function from unbalance is vital for China financial development”. Some policy suggestions are given to promote the farmer income growth through China financial development. |

• Competition,Ownership,Corporate Governance:Their Importance and Interactions |
Abstrat:There exist three views in the comparative literature on the efficiency of state-owned versus private enterprises: competition, ownership, and governance. Each view emphasizes on one aspect while ignoring others. This paper employs a unique World Bank survey data of 736 Chinese firms across seven sectors and five cities from 1996 to 2001 to assess the relative importance of the above three views, both independently, jointly, and their interactions. It is found that:1when examined independently each determinant matters in explaining the efficiency of our sample firms. However, when they are jointly examined, ownership structure and corporate governance are relatively more important, while the competition effect is less significant;2there appears to exist some degree of substitutability between two pairs: privatization and corporate governance, and privatization and competition; and3non state-owned enterprisesnon-SOEsseem to have certain advantage in some governance mechanisms than SOEs, but market competition matters more for SOEs than for non-SOEs. These findings suggest that the three views are indeed incomplete by themselves, and a complete package requires some combination of these determinants. Finally, our results have important policy implications for Chinas on-going privatization movement and her strive for better corporate governance and market competition. |

• Different Guarantee Instutitions and their Effects on the Financing of Small and Medium-Sized EnterprisesSMEs |
Abstrat:In the monopolistic credit market with regulation interest rate, collateral is an efficient tool to screen the risk of SMEs. The third-part collateral increases the indirect financing ability of SMEs. Based on the theory of information economics, we use mathematical model to compare the behaviors of different guarantee institutions and discuss the way they affect the choices of banks and SMEs. The results prove that mutual guarantee institutions are preponderant to government guarantee institutions. Mutual guarantee dont change the profits of SMEs and banks. At the same time, government guarantee is absolutely necessary because of market characteristic but it redistributes profits among SMEs and between bank and SMEs. |

• A Study on the Investment Value of Chinas Land under Land-on-Lease System |
Abstrat:This paper focuses on the investment value of Chinas land on lease system. The study reveals that land possesses the characters of financial asset, and the development of macro economy is the prime factor affecting the land intrinsic value. But in China, to the land leaseholder, the land investment value is less than the land intrinsic value, and the land does not possess the characteristic of financial asset on the system of separation between land ownership and land-lease right. With such system, the remaining land-lease period is the major factor determining the land investment value, and the land investment value will decrease with the approaching of the expiration date. |

• The Impact of Changes in Bargaining Power On Housework Time Allocation:Evidence from Chinese Double-Income Households |
Abstrat:Using data from double-income households in 9 Chinese provinces, this paper examines the impact of changes in bargaining power on housework time allocation in the framework of Nash-bargaining model. The results indicate that higher bargaining power decreases ones housework time and housework share, as well as increases the elasticity of ones housework time and share to other factors. Moreover, the impact of bargaining power is gender different in that it is obviously stronger on males than on females. This paper extends the results of previous studies, explores the definition and measurement of bargaining power, and proves through empirical analysis the unneglectable role bargaining power plays in housework time allocation. |

• A Study on the Transform Tendency of Dual Economic Structure |
Abstrat:The transformation of dual economic structure is a crucial point of the economic development in developing countries, but the exsiting literature cannt display the transform tendency of dual structure in theory. The paper consider that dual economic lies in the difference in level of labor division of two sectors, and the transform tendency of dual structure should be explained from the viewpoints of labor division.According to the above judgement, the paper take advantage of New Classical Economics models, and conclude that with the improvement of labor division, the transform trend of dual structure is industrialization, the prosperity of service industry and the development of urbanization. The improvement of labor division is decided by the transaction efficiency or the transaction cost. These theoretic viewpoints can be supported by empirical evidence,so we have explained the transform tendency of dual structure in theory and in practice consistently. |

• Challenge,Opportuity and Strategy for China International Trade Development in the BackGround of WTO Entry |
Abstrat:The two connection issues were raised in this paper: contradiction in depth and restricted factor in the high speed growth process of Chinas foreign trade and how to deal with the challenge of international trade protectionism since severe trade friction appeared while foreign trade and economic environment has changed a lot after Chinas access to WTO. The author think that there are two types of the contradiction, the first one is shared with other developing countries; and the second one is referred as special restricted factor when China has faced in the current development stage and openness outside. Meanwhile, the cause of still existence of international trade protectionism was analyzed and the judgment was produced. The author provided policy thinking and suggestion according to the analyses above. |

• The Development,Logic Structure and Theory Base of Law and Economics |
Abstrat:Law and Economics is one of the fastest-growing schools in both law and economic circles since 1970s. It is also one of the most important academic achievements in the two circles during the last half-century. By analyzing the roots, logic foundation and theories of the Law and Economics, this article summarizes up three logic principles; it also puts forward some suggestions on the localization and subject establishment of the Law and Economics. |
