Abstract: In this paper, we discuss some basic thoughts and methodologies of modern economics,
which could be summarized as “one behavioral assumption, two precautious points,
three institutional arrangements, four basic principles, five analytical steps and six research skills”.
These thoughts and methodologies play a vital role in the understanding and application of modern economics,
particularly in the mastering of internal logical analysis of economic theories.
